Camper Accommodations

Our Pioneers, Explorers and Voyageurs all sleep in lodges within our main quad of Camp. Our Adventurer campers sleep in canvas tents and accommodation in our onsite forest. Each cabin will have a room to sleep in with bunk beds and enough space to store any luggage you bring. Your Counsellors sleep in a room joining on to yours, so they are close if you ever need anything.

What will a typical day look like?

All of our days at Camp are filled with lots of fun activities. We start our day with Penguin Slide in the morning and end our day with Campfire singing songs and laughing at skits. Programs are different depending on the age and program of the campers, but most follow a similar daily schedule template. Click on the schedule below to see what a typical day looks like.

Penguin Slide

Our Mornings start with a big Slip’n’Slide in the field with the whole camp community coming together to cheer on those who decide to take part in Penguin Slide.

Cabin Activities

This is time throughout the day that cabins get to spend together doing fun activities and getting to know each other better. This includes all manner of programs such as wall climbing, archery, canoeing, slingshot, crafts, nature programs, orienteering, team giant swing, high ropes, zipline and more!  Note that some programs such as wall climbing and archery are done by all campers, while others are age specific.  See our list of Camp Programs for more details.

Wide Game

Our wide games are unique and fun and are often a highlight of the week for many campers. These are played with the whole camp community.  They can include fun twists on camp favorites like Capture the Flag, as well as sweeping adventures that take campers through a range of fun challenges.  There may be costumes.

Campfire

Cookies, Campfire, Songs and Skits are what our evenings are all about. We end our days together around the campfire, having fun.

Fireside Chat

Each Cabin ends the day together talking about their day. Fireside Chat topics could include what were the best parts of your day, did you learn anything new, what challenged you?

The Best Part of Camp?

A week at Camp Warwa is filled with new friendships, lots of laughter, fun games and memories that will last a lifetime. Yes, you will have lots of fun while you are at Camp!!

Camper Mail

It is natural for many of our campers to miss home, especially if it is their first time away. All of our staff are here to ensure that your camper has the best time while at camp and will help them in any way they can when they are missing home. Something that can help is our Camper Mail service. Parents can email their camper, which we print off and hand out once daily. They can not write back to you, but it is an excellent way to keep them up to date with what is happening at home. You can find out more in the Parents Information Package below.

Counsellor to Camper Ratios

Our cabins have 8 campers and 2 counsellors. There is a 1:4 ratio. At least one Counsellor is always age 18+ while the other may be a Junior Counsellor. Counselling pairs can be of any mix of genders, although one will always be the same gender as their campers. Our Counsellors sleep in separate rooms to our campers but are always close if they need anything.

Nutrition

Here at Camp Warwa, we take a lot of care when preparing our menu to ensure that our campers have the energy to have fun every day at camp. Our meals are served family-style in our dining hall, with an afternoon snack served in the field. Each cabin also gets to have a meal over the fire while at camp. We are a Nut-Aware camp and do our best to accommodate the dietary needs of our campers and take special care when preparing our food to ensure there is no cross-contamination.

You can find out more in the Parents Package below, and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.
